The Sigmatel company was later bought by IDT, and IDT based their drivers on Sigmatel's, so it is possible that someone managed to load an IDT driver into your system and that could be what the Device Manager is seeing. some outputs cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#* | grep Codec Codec: IDT 92HD87B2/4 If so it definitely has Sigmatel audio components on the motherboard and uses a Sigmatel driver.

I couldn't find any driver on the net, some people suggested software solutions but i need to use the integrated hardware for this. Right after installing the IDT driver on windows, it could enable the Dolby hardware enhancement, I couldn't do the same on Ubuntu. Select the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC under that. On Windows, using the generic sound driver, the sound output is the same as in Ubuntu now. Go to the device manager and click to expand the Sound, video and game controllers device category.
